Camp 2010

Thursday 5 Aug - 11 Aug 2010
Venue:

Camp 2010 (5th August - 11th August)

We are offering campers over the age of 8 years the solution of keeping them active, laughing and entertained during the school holidays. Our multi-activity camp combines sport, arts, play as well as spiritual education in a fun fueled programme. If your child loves filling their days with non-stop energy, creativity and pure fun with their friends, then we guarantee they will have a fantastic time at SSTW Camp 2010!

SSTW Camp has been providing an outdoor, environmental, adventure and spiritual program for boys and girls, for the past 10 years. SSTW Camps promote the practice of conservation, responsibility and stewardship through traditional camp activities. By stepping out on their own, the campers encounter challenging experiences in a supportive, group living environment. They will learn to build relationships, share adventures and take on responsibilities.

This allows them to:
Develop Independence: our campers layout their own sleeping bag, choose their own activities and decide how to spend their free time. Our campers are encouraged to think for themselves and make their own decisions. As always, camp volunteers are around to offer encouragement, suggestions and guidance to our campers in making the best possible choices.

Increase self-esteem: the camp is a special place where positive qualities and attitudes are constantly stressed and emphasised. Our volunteers are the cheerleaders as the campers take risks, set goals and try new activities

Be themselves: there are no social pressures at camp, only encouragement and positive reinforcement. Your child is encouraged to be the best that he or she can be! They are encouraged to develop and strengthen the unique qualities that make them the unique individuals that they are.

Make new friends: making friends is one of the easiest things to do at camp. Your child is surrounded by other campers of similar age, who want to do the same things as your child does, while having as much fun as possible!

Learn: your child has the opportunity to experience various activities and games. They have the chance to develop the social skills required to become a competent adult. They will learn, develop, create, discover and encounter new adventures.

Your child will be able to take part in various practical workshops which will enable them to increase their understanding about the Swaminarayan Sampraday.

Open Day on 8th August 2010

Open Day is an invitation from us to invite you down for the day and join in on all the fun and games. It is your chance to see for yourself what the kids at the SSTW Camp have been learning and participating in. Throughout the week of camp workshops will
be held to give the groups an opportunity to work together and to be creative. Their workshop items will be displayed on the day at our exhibition to be judged by you the visitor.

We have a jam-packed day full of lots of activities for you to take part in. Sports and games are organised for everyone to play with many events which tests the strengths of the new blood against the old. There will be a bungee run, entertainment for the
younger kids, delicious food throughout the day, the obstacle race, quizzes, sports, dramas and many more.

You’ll find various events scattered all over the field through out the day, it is guaranteed to be full of fun and action. Finally at the end of the day, every one will be able to recover and relax at the evening BBQ

With so much going on, this years Camp is an experience that you just cannot miss. Just ask the 300 youngsters that attended in the last three years! No doubt this year will be Big, its up to you if you want to be a part of it.
