“Campaign to Prevent Diseases in Kutch”

UPDATE:  First MRI Machine in Kutch given by Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj Read More

The Almighty Lord Shri Swaminarayan installed Nar Narayan Dev at Bhuj on Vaishak Sud Pancham and opened up the path of salvation. He has decreed His disciples to serve the poor and sick in the Sikshapatri (verse 139) as well.

By the grace of Lord Swaminarayan and with the blessings of the revered saints, many of our satsangis have prospered and become wealthy and as a result it was a great pleasure to their donation of large amounts of money to server the poor. On the auspicious occasion of the grand opening ceremony of the newly built magnificent Nar Narayan Dev Temple, a ‘Campaign to Prevent Disease in Kutch’ had been organised. Needy patients were not only offered free medical diagnostic services but were also offered treatment up to and including major surgery, totally free.

Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj created an opportunity to serve humanity without any restriction to caste or creed. Many donors grabbed this opportunity to donate generously so such as many patients are possible were served to make the 'Medical Camp 2010' a great success.

Kutch, as the largest district of Gujarat state has sparse medical facilities. Due to the abnormal weather, the large populace suffers from cardiac complications, breast and ovarian cancer, bone deformation, respiratory and retinal diseases. Many of the outlying areas are not served by hospitals. Polio is prevalent in children because of the low uptake of immunisation available. Many tribes still live nomadic lifestyles. Severe poverty, besides the above mentioned reasons, has rendered a large population without any chance of diagnostic medical assistance let alone the treatment of any major disease.
